Default Apartments in north Irving/Las Colinas/Valley Ranch?

I just got a job in Las Colinas, and I live an hour northeast of Dallas. Insane commute! So, I'm looking to move closer to work.

I've looked at some apartments in Las Colinas, Valley Ranch, and general north Irving, but I've heard some bad things about crime in apartment complexes, particularly the ones I liked, argh.

Do any of you have any suggestions of clean, nice apartment complexes in the area that are gated or have less crime than others? I'm hoping to stay under $800/month for a one bedroom (It's just me living there, a woman in her late twenties), preferably under $750.

Thanks in advance!

I don't think I would consider Jefferson Place as a single person... Stoneleigh would be better. Jefferson Place caters to families with children. Now if this doesn't matter then you could consider JP as an option.

Did you take a look at Apartment Ratings - Apartments for Rent with Ratings and Reviews from Actual Renters

I'm moving from NY and flew out last month to look at apartments. The photos online advertising the complexes are deceiving. Be careful.

Santa Rosa in Las Colinas/Irving is good too, the apartments complexes on Royal lane... I live there... there's like 2-3 apt communities on Royal lane, then anything in Coppell and Valley Ranch area is good... close to groceries stores, shopping and some eating places.

My husband has been living in one of those complexes, across from the equestrian center (I don't know the name). He's felt safe and has enjoyed the availability of the fitness room and pool. It's clean and well kept up. There's a school right across the street with police directing traffic before and after school.

Thanks for the recommendations. I ended up going with a complex in Valley Ranch. It's a bit more than I'd like to pay, but it's safe and very nice.

La Villita area apartments are very nice. IT's a master planned community within Las Colinas with a central lake and canals feeding into it.

Also downtown Las Colinas is building several loft style apartments that may suit you as well.
