This sounds like a great place to settle...do the rental units in this area come with garages/covered parking?

There is some nice enclosed garage parking.

Did anyone mention that there are also some of the pro athletes (current/former) that live in that area as well?

There is some "money" in Uptown, but as stated many fake the part. Having lived in uptown it's more of a younger crowd who like to show their newly acquired money (recent college grad/young professionals) thus appears to be inhabited by more wealthy individuals which really isn't the case. The truely wealthy do not live in Uptown that's for sure, rather Preston Hallow, Highland Park, etc

When the truely wealthy want to down-size, Uptown does have some nice places. The finish-outs in the million-dollar condos can be twice the price of the space.

I'm a recent grad and I just moved into the Uptown/Knox area.

It's convenient for nightlife and close to other young folks. At 21, it's the right place for me (I was living downtown when I was 19, now THAT was expensive).

It's at my price range (as in, I'm living comfortably at my means), but if I was living somewhere cheaper I could probably save $200/month of rent (living 1-1, I'm currently with a roommate), maybe even up to $300 if I had a roommate somewhere else. Not rich, just well off.

What is rich to everyone? 100k? I think someone who makes 400k+ is rich. I have no idea what the people do to afford Lamborghinis.

I love looking outside of my window every evening as cars whiz right on by to Ocean Prime. The circular drive is a showcasing of beautiful cars!!
