I honestly find this amusing. Ohio (espcially Dayton) racist? I find that really hard to believe. I have lived in southwest Ohio my entire life and have never seen any form of racism that isn't seen elsewhere. I think you will do just fine in Dayton and actually all of Ohio.

As far as safety goes in Dayton, avoid the west side; dangerous due to the illegal drug activity and gangs. I live in the East side (near Kettering) and I think it's starting to go down the drain (robberies and drug activity picking up).

I also wouldn't send my kids to Dayton Public Schools for any amount of money. Sure they are making improvments, but they still have a long way to go. Beavercreek is probably your best bet as far as safety and school systems go if you are wanting a community near WPAFB.

I would not split my family up over a move to or near Dayton. There are far worse places to live, however, I would never choose to move here unless it's unavoidable. I feel uneasy about safety and find that Dayton is just not appealing to the eye. But, on the otherhand, Dayton has cheap housing (as well as rapidly declining property values).

Default yeah

Beavercreek values have not dropped a lot as other areas have, other safe good districts are bellbrook, centerville, kettering and miamisburg, all excellent schools, none of these would race be an issue at!
