What a humongous boost this would be for Dayton and the region. The birthplace of aviation certainly deserves to host the ultimate flying machine of our time.

New York? Chicago? Seattle? Los Angeles?

Please.

I'm waiting with anticipation myself!

One little interesting fact I hadn't caught onto until this morning when I heard it on the BBC (I'm in the UK for work this week) morning news...

Today is the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's flight into space! (First man to fly in space for those who don't know).

It's also the 30th anniversary of the first Space Shuttle launch.

Lots of space history culminating in today's announcement...

USAF Museum certainly deserves a Shuttle, let's hope they get one!

Yeah, I agree completely with Kennedy and DC - and it makes sense to put one somewhere on the west coast, though Museum of Flight in Seattle is a better venue than LA.

But to put two within 250 miles in NY and DC makes no sense.

Either Dayton or Houston deserved the 4th Shuttle.

I don't understand why New York even got a shuttle. Not joking at all...you would think bringing any form of flying craft has sort of a negative conotation in that place now. Is it because they're the biggest city? Seems unfair to me.

Dayton and Ohio got shafted big time. The birthplace of flight and the state that provided more astronauts than any other, including the most famous, gets completely passed over? Thanks NASA for the big FU.
