moving to west carrollton (Columbus, Dayton: apartment, rental homes, homes)

Hello, I am in Columbus right now but am looking for a rental apartment in the West Carrollton area.

I do not drive and need to be within walking/bus distance from the van pool meeting point which is Alex Rd and Gibbons. I've google street viewed this area and it looks kind of dodgy but maybe they are just not good photos.

After researching the RTA site I think that bus 24 goes down Alex to the Dayton Mall so I think anything on the route would be considered. I haven't been back to Dayton in 5 years so advise on where to go/avoid would be much appreciated.

ETA- I have no children so school systems are not important but pet friendly is.

It's not a horrible area. Our business is just up Alex on Fame.

There is an apartment building on Alex just passed Gibbons, can't think of the name. It's been there awhile, not sure what kind of shape it's in.

Depending on your budget there are probably some rental homes in that area if that's an option for you.
