Not really, there are some nice neighborhoods off Dixie going toward Dorothy Lane, but if you are renting an apartment you may want to look south on RT. 741 in Miami township going toward the Dayton Mall.

There are some apartments close to Moraine in that Dixie Drive/Dorothy Lane area, east of Dixie & South of Dorothy.

Be carefull about mall area apartments.

The better ones are south of the mall, south of I-675, across from Lexis-Nexis. These are on a bus line, too.

Moraine isn't the best area. Try Kettering...or Oakwood or Centerville if you can afford it. Honestly Dayton isn't the best. Job market sucks - but I suppose if you have a job offer already it might be worth the move.

Regarding the cable, you don't have any choice. The only cable offered here in Time Warner. We get our cable, Internet, and phone from Time Warner. It's not cheap, but it is easier.

Any area of Kettering is nice, I wouldn't worry about choosing to rent there or buy a house either.

The job market in Dayton is not good. I am fortunate enough to be in health care, but many people have already faced lay offs and the economy here is poor.
