Dayton has had reports of bed bugs.

There's a big, long thread in the Cincinnati room, Cincinnati partly because it's a more active room. (Lot's of discussion about many things there.)

Here's two important links that have been posted:

Michael Potter is generally considered to be an expert on the matter nationally.

Bed Bugs | University of Kentucky Entomology

House Bill 967 (H.R. 967) should help to establish the creatures as a health hazard, but the legislation has been sitting in sub-committee for a year. There's a link on the right to THOMAS (Library of Congress) which gives some particulars about the legislation.

Bed Bug Management, Prevention, and Research Act (H.R. 967) - GovTrack.us

Note: there's only a 2% chance of passage.
