Really? Good to know, thanks for the heads up!

I wasn't a big fan of the orange panels anyways. I'm all for distinctive, yes, but sometimes it's overkill.

You're welcome.

I thought that was just to show sun light or something, but who knows .

Can't find it posted(yet), but Newscenter reported that City commission will vote on giving South Park homeowners a tax break for improving their properties!

Now that's where the real deal is. You don't hear of this in Five Oaks, for example

That is good news! And yeah, the link should be floating around here (I think on the gentrification thread), but if I have time later I might bring it back up.

I will do a correction though. Tax incentives are available for homebuyers in almost all Dayton neighborhoods, including Five Oaks, through the federally-funded neighborhood stabilization program (NSP). Here's a link:
https://www.hudexchange.info/nsp/

I'll probably be using that in about 2 years haha.
The NSP program offers grants for buying a primary residence, not for buying rental homes, investment properties, etc.

Also, there is the Miami Valley Fair Housing Center’s Inclusive Community Fund. The Community Fund will give you up to $2500 right now if you buy a house in the 45417 or 45426 zip codes. I've personally seen it do a lot of good in Trotwood. And from its website, it looks like the program is expanding and will be available to more Dayton residents, including Five Oaks resident, in 2015. The Community Fund gives money to residents to repair or add value to their homes, not just for new buys (which is similar to the South Park program), so definitely a good deal!

So if you look, there are good incentives throughout the city. Better than suburbanizing the cornfields haha

Yeah, it's a good deal and has been done before. I forget which areas it has been given to before though.
