^That's excellent news!

Other good news.... twenty-three $350k - $400k+ condos being built at Pointe Oakwood:
New condos, deli coming to Pointe Oakwood | www.daytondailynews.com

I figured taht number from dividing the $8mil investment to build the units by the 23 units that will be built. Actual condo costs might be higher.

Interesting. Is there really a demand for those?

There may be, but I don't think that's the best location. If it was closer to Brown Street or the Shops on Far Hills, I think it would do better. Better condos than apartments?

It will be interesting to see how these sell.

I can see why they are being built. There's strong demand for "luxury downsizing" properties for baby boomers, and these fit the bill. To build 1,600 - 2,000 sq. ft. units with a $400k price point, they had better have great amenities, excellent quality, and great finishes. Which they probably will. I don't think these will be targeting the Millennial demographic, so maybe walkability won't be as big of a concern?

Either way, waking from this location to stores/restaurants wouldn't be horrible, but it wouldn't be great either. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Pine Club (the south end of the Brown St. strip and a decidedly Boomer-focused establishment). Other than that everything would be out of range...

I'm not looking for a debate and wouldn't approve of it here
( since there is a good one ( debate ) going on in the Ohio forum that I'm enjoying very much ),
but someone just saying "Good" leaves me unfulfilled.
