Very cool. Thanks.

I can't relate those shots to the overall area with my tiny little brain.

Once they get on google satellite views, I'll post an update.

Default South Ludlow from 1850 to 2016

I like to gather old photos of streets in Dayton to compare how they looked a long time ago - compared to now.

I organize and scale the images when possible so that they can be viewed in a web page.

I made this page of South Ludlow Street showing the changes from 1850 and posted it here .

Some of the images have been altered on the top or sides to make them more consistent. I'm practicing for my real job altering documents and images for fun and profit.

Pictures from the Wright Factory. Well, sort of. It's not officially open to the public full time. Tour De Dayton stopped there last month and the curator said the building is in the process of being taken over by the National Park Service. No power to the place, we had lanterns to see in there. It's one of the old Inland/Delphi buildings off West Third St. near Abbey Avenue

Welcome. It wasn't a pretty site as it is right now. Plenty of debris laying around and really surprised they let the public in given the condition. It's hard to picture a library going in there eventually

They probably hoped some would be motivated to help. A current picture of the bicycle shop that came through on my news feed shows a lovely, nice little neighborhood scene. I happen to remember what it was like 40 + years ago -- if you had to go through there you zipped through alert as you would be going through a danger zone.
