Hi! I got a job offer in Dayton and will be moving in a month or so. I'm looking for a place near Chaminade-Julienne or within a 20 minute drive. Also, I'd like to be on a bus line for backup transportation if possible. Just need a studio/1 BR as I am moving ahead while my wife and son finish the school year. I'm looking for a place $600 a month or less. I've already called Dayton Towers and they may have an availability, but I read the Google reviews for the place and I'm having second thoughts. I welcome your guidance. Thanks!

You might want to look at apartments and duplexes in Oakwood and the "Town & Country" part of Kettering, areas off of Shroyer and Far Hills.

These are a straight shot into the city and are on bus 14 and 17, both of which pass about a block from Chaminade.

Hi misterjimmy--

It is, but nobody calls it that as far as I know. You'll easily pick up almost every radio station from both cities, it's easier to get from West Chester north to Miamisburg than it is to go south to Cincinnati during rush hour, and culturally the cities aren't that far apart. But people tend to blow it way out of proportion.

I've never heard it called that either. As noted, there are plenty of apartment complexes on Far Hills/Rt 48 to look at.

Are you kidding or what? Culturally, the two cities are MILES apart. But perhaps that just goes to underscore how little you know about either city. Cincinnati is nothing like Dayton, and vice versa.

Hah..no! I just sort of made that up since it rolls of the tongue (I also use "Cin-Day"). There is no real term in common use for this "between the cities" region.

People usually just refer to the county (Warren County or Butler County) or suburb or town/township (Middletown, Monroe, Clear Creek Township, etc)

Thanks for clearing that up! Also, I found some potential places on S Dixie Hwy near Springhill, in Kettering. How's that area in terms of traffic and crime?

Your probably talking about the Southern Hills area. It seems like a quiet and stable area. Older, pre WWII area, but still nice. Wooded, a bit hilly, located between Calvary Cemetary and Hills & Dales Park.

The traffic situation shuold be OK heading into town except there might be some minor congestion as you get to the UD/Stewart Street area.

Cant say much about crime but a nearby WalMart apparently has been having issues in their parking lot.
