Default Moving to Dayton

Hello, I am relocating to Dayton from Cincinnati and need to find an apartment or house for rent in a hurry. I am going to be working for the city of Dayton and therefore have to reside within the city limits. Any suggestions of what neighborhoods to consider or specific apartment complexes in great areas for young professionals? I am looking to spend under $1,000/mo in rent. Someone suggested the Oregon District for houses and several downtown places, like the cannery and the metropolitan. I want to be around other young people but I am not completely sold on staying DT. Thanks for the help.

From what I know, the places recommended are fine. Others might be South Park or the Grafton Hill area (which has some high rise apartments...Park Layne in Grafton Hill would be worth looking at).

The old Dayton Towers, now The Met, is also a good place to look at, just east of Oregon.
