I suffer from a certain sense of l'ennui when I see these "Ten Worst____" or "Ten Best____" lists. They're not necessarily scientific and even factor in things I wouldn't even consider. So, OK, you generally know where the rough parts of ANY city are. If you're that worried, live in the 'burbs.

Pretty much....there's neighborhoods in every city where you have a good chance of getting jacked. Even cities with pristine reputations like San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, etc. And every city in America has nice neighborhoods too, even Dayton
