Guys, please poor does not mean criminal nor drug addled.

Everything north of 35 is all bad ?

I was looking at the blocks of tidy white 1930 and 49's homes on South Westview. Somebone's German grandparents are inside have lunch, or out tending the vegatable garden and sweeping the driveway.

I have heard so many stories of people who grew up in the area who went to Wibur Wright School * still there on street view ).

Obviously, poor != drug addicted, and not everything north of 35 is all bad. However, when you've experienced East Dayton in all of it's glory, then get back to me about the current state of affairs. Dayton is known nationally for being a dying city, and it is. It's not Flint, Michigan or Gary, Indiana but holds it's own for being a poor, drug ridden, depressed, burnt out manufacturing town with a notable past.

I have not experienced East dayton nor any of Dayton, but I hope too.

Your last post was a fair one. However, The area has so much ging for it and has thriving areas and areas of re-gentrification. From an outsider, with an unbiased view, it does not seem nearly as bad off as Youngstown, Rockford Il or the towns you mentioned. Please read my post about decay and cities on the tread i began about Old Sterling Way.

I appreciate all the posters here and the various points of view.
