Aaaaaand this, like the fights we had at Urban Nights back in May, is why Dayton has such a hard time keeping nice things.
Fairs attract bored teens. And teens do stupid stuff - I was one a couple years ago - it happens.

Same issues pop up at the Miami Co fair, Greene, Warren, Darke, etc. Heck, the last time I was at the Datke Co fair I saw what looked like a 10-yr old driving a power chair and smoking cigarettes. Still doesn't excuse blatant stupidity, but teens are idiots and ones who are violating the law need to feel a little taste of what happens when they break it.

So the way I see it, closing early was a band aid. You are right it is a big problem, but why can't we go one step further and put these kids in Juvy for the night if they are blatantly breaking the law? Slap on the wrist maybe, but it might be just enough to get then to question their decisions and grow up.

Which for some reason reminded me of the dude who likes having sex with his pool raft in Hamilton. He just got sent to jail again! Some people...
Edwin Tobergta Accused Of Sex With Pool Raft YET AGAIN
That last link is baffling. Why not just buy his OWN inflatable pool toy, and have sex with it in the privacy of his own home/bathtub?

No Indictment in Dog Mauling Case
Quote:
Andrew Nason, 29, and Julie Custer, 25, are not facing any charges related to a fatal dog mauling.

Richey, 57, was attacked outside of her home at 31 E. Bruce Ave. in the early morning hours of Feb. 7 by two mixed mastiff dogs. The dogs were registered to Julie Custer, 25, who lived at 35 E. Bruce Ave. with the homeowner, Andrew Nason, 29.

When police responded to the report of Richey's body, they were charged by the dogs, who were shot and killed.
For what it's worth (not reported in the DDN): the dogs were pit-mastiff mixes.

And, presumably not under anyone's control.

Has anyone seen any trace of this information? I see the local angle immediately.

News from The Associated Press

I'm sure Cox has a couple of versions of the AP wire.

^I haven't. I don't know enough about the issue to comment, unfortunately. I like global politics, but I haven't had the time to follow them haha.

Another bizarre story to add - anyone know what happened with this?

So they closed down ALL of I-75? Must have been one bad dude they took down...
Anyone get tied up in that traffic?

It ain't politics.

Well, darlin', if you can scrounge up five minutes now and then, bookmark this below, and run down the text offering. You'll have some global ideas. Again, it ain't politics.

News from The Associated Press

'Way back when, the DDN had the evening "AP Wire." When they bought the Journal Herald, they got the morning one. I don't know enough about the Associated Press to know if the broadcasting media has separate service. It might, since broadcast news is different. Cox is the news source for the region. ...And, a good wire editor should easily have found that report. As I said, I can see local angle there.

Read it over very carefully and save it for reference for a while.

And CP, I am trying to keep up on what's going on better. Especially helpful since one of my friends who is adept at international issues came to visit this weekend.
