Hey now, one should always support their alma mater.

Especially since us MAC alums are generally in the fun underdog position!

Amen.
Which MAC school did you attend? I went to BG for undergrad. Still have season tickets for football!

I can understand OHKID's feelings towards MAC basketball. I know at BG (and I'm sure Miami) basketball plays 2nd fiddle to hockey in the winter.

^Yeah, Basketball is definitely second fiddle.... or maybe third or fourth or fifth.

That being said, I do agree that one should always have pride in their alma mater, but honestly I'd rather see Miami cut the basketball and football teams and devote their resources elsewhere (drastic move, I know, but the net loss on both of those ventures is large).

One of my former UD housemates posted one simple message on her Facebook page: A photograph of a burning couch.

I'm still laughing myself silly over it.

*looking around the house for expendable furniture*

Now, now, it wouldn't be the Dayton forum if I didn't point out something negative:

Couch fires end badly. LOL

Quote:
The fire at 1201 E. Third St. destroyed 11 apartments and more than five businesses. More than 20 people were displaced, but none was injured.

One man was arrested on suspicion of arson.

The fire started on a sofa in an alley way between the buildings and it quickly spread to the nearby structures.
Shame, cause I know the guy that owned those properties. The insurance company would only insure his purchase price of the property - from when he bought it back in the 80's. And the city is now billing him for the demolition.
