^ it was a great run. I'm being optimistic, but definitely hoping for a least a taste of the same next year! Go Flyers!

Where's your proof to back your potentially libelous statement?

Logo is okay. Court is a little better. Uniforms are SWEET!

This alum doesn't like the design. At all.

And according to the Facebook page of the DDN, nobody does. They couldn't even be bothered to hire a consulting firm or have at least a test run to see how it would be received.

The first thing I thought of when I saw that logo was "VD"... you know, the sexually transmitted disease. Not something a Catholic university would want to promote, I am sure.

I saw it before it came out and obviously today. I never once saw VD or thought about it.

Nor does this one. I'll go even further by saying it is one of the godawful ugliest logos I've ever seen. My old Marycrest roommate is "horrified".

I read one comment on Facebook comparing the left side of the D to Abraham Lincoln's profile. I don't think that - or VD - was what the university had in mind, eh? And what does it represent?

I also wonder the wisdom of changing the athletics logo only a few months after such huge national exposure. It makes little sense.

I suppose I'll get used to it, but I'm not buying any T-shirts with this logo on them, that's for sure.

Yeah, they do seem to cut the U in UD.

But the new D they use is cool. And I guess the U has been morphed into "wind"? As in a flying D? I'm not much of a graphic design person, so I'm probably reading into it incorrectly.

Anyways, I am happy to see an update regardless. Brings UD into 2014 and beyond, and hopefully will be displayed proudly along with Duke, Kentucky, USC, and other NCAA tournament schools on ESPN next year.

VD is the first thing I saw as well. I simply cannot see a "U" anywhere in there.
