^Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like he's holding the gun backwards...

As in, he's not pointing it.

Ok, so now I've had enough time to watch the video.
There's no f***ing reason why John Crawford is not still alive today. He was not a threat, he did not appear to be a threat, he was carrying that BB gun just as if he were carrying a broom or a ladder or anything else you might carry on your shoulder. He was shot in cold blood.

For a little more context, here's a longer version with the surveillance tape synced with the 911 call audio:

You must be watching a different video because he is clearly holding the rifle by its pistol grip (and not like a broom or a ladder on his shoulder) when he is shot.

^So that gives the police the right to shoot him on cold blood?

Here's some "Thoughts" from others that explain just a few small aspects of why this case is so messed up:

Video Shows Black Man With BB-Gun Was Shot By Police For No Reason | Thought Catalog

It's time to end racism in police policy. Simple as that. Police don't get some "green pass" to be bigots. So why are we giving them one now? Do you really want this happening to your kid?

I think not.

1) I am simply calling you out on your inaccurate statement about how Mr. Crawford was holding the rifle when he was shot. It shows your lack of objectivity and inattention to detail.

2) No one was shot in "cold blood." In order for Mr. Crawford to be shot in cold blood, the police officer, on his own volition, would have had to drive to Walmart with the premeditated intent to shoot someone because he felt like shooting them. Words have meaning.

3) What does your Chicago link have to do with anything?

Tne reason we can't have an honest dialoguie about race in this country is that when someone like me disagrees with someone like you, the automatic reaction is that someone like me must be a racist. I have seen it over and over again. "This is what I think. If you think something different, you are a racist" (because there is no other possible explanation for your opinion).

I believe racism is wrong.

I believe racist police officers should be fired.

I can disagree with you and not be a racist.

Does the video show his interaction with the police officers?

May, refer to about the last 10 seconds of the video. Basically they come in and shoot him immediately. I doubt any interaction was longer than 30 seconds.

Joe - I'll address your points when I have more time to give a decent response. Quick thing to note is you are 100% core t in your last statement. I'm not saying we are the racists, what I am saying is racial profiling in common police practice has to end.
