I came to the Dayton area from a small town. I checked a few areas out before finally settling in Centerville. I would stay away from any of the city of Dayton areas. Centerville/Washington Twp areas are very nice areas, so is Oakwood. Kettering has some good places also but aren't as quiet as Oakwood. Oakwood would probably be the most expensive of the 3 areas mentioned. Also some of the Miami Twp areas are nice as well. None of these areas would be more than 15 mins from MVH unless its rush hour. All have multiple routes to get there.

My posts are beneficial. I have a right to say that Dayton is not a good place to live. Why is it that automatically as soon as someone says something negative, like wrong move coming to Dayton, you all want to censor me. The person asked, and I gave my opinion. Keep lying to everyone and tell them what a wonderful place Dayton is. Censor me all you want, I only tell the truth according to me, and I say Dayton is a horrible place to live compared to all the other city choices available.

I'll say this right off the top---I do respect your right to express yourself, and your opinions regarding Dayton (or anywhere/anything else for that matter)...I am a firm believer in hearing both/all sides to a story, and I realize too that everyone who lives IN a certain area is not gonna be a 'civic cheerleader' FOR that area...
But ya gotta give folks a chance to make their own judgments, and give 'em the benefit of the doubt...what you say is trash one day, may just be someone else's diamond-in-the-rough the next day...if I myself were moving to the Dayton area, I would want to hear from both the cheerleaders and the naysayers...and then I would make my OWN decisions, based on research, actual conversations with residents, physical visits, etc...
Do I think you should be censored? Nope...trust me, I've seen far more 'venomous' posts besides yours, and I didn't howl for their scalps either...a forum is just that---a forum, an arena for folks to express their ideas and opinions, whether they love and adore Dayton, or think it's the 18th Belly of Hell...ALL should be heard, and the forum hopefully shouldn't degenerate into boring one-sidedness...and that's MY opinion

So give some reasons, not just a brief statement with nothing to back it up...I agree, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but when someone posts here they want a real answer, not just a one sentence slam.
I'd like to hear your reasons...what exactly is so bad? Why do you think it is so horrible? Sharing things like that would be helpful.

South Park is literally located right across Wyoming from MVH and we have several interns/residents/doctors who live in the neighborhood. We are Dayton's largest historic district and won a national neighborhood of the year award last year. Most kids in the neighborhood tend to go to Holy Angels (elementary) or CJ (high school) which are both great Catholic schools. There is also a charter school, Emerson Academy, in the neighborhood.
Check out the neighborhood website at www.historicsouthpark.org or mine at www.fullcircledayton.com I can put you in contact with other MVH employees.

You're entitled to your opinion. However, many of us love the City of Dayton and are doing their part to help recreate it and make it better than ever. I could live anywhere in the world, but I can't imagine moving away from this region. The cost of living, the ease of getting around, the people, the festivals, the ability to get involved and really make a difference make this town truly unique and special. I'm sorry that you don't see its many assets, but if you hate it that much, why don't you try out "all the other city choices available".
