For those of you who ride bicycles, here is a low-intensity family-friendly bike event. Ive been to 3 of the previous 4 and was appreciated the effort that went into making this a quality experience for cyclists.

The Tour de Dayton is a city ride that explores a different part of the city with each tour. These tours have stops where you can tour things....and get food and stuff too. So far Ive seen the DAATV studios, a fencing academy (the fencing you do with swords not stolen goods), the Police Academy and their SWAT APC, the fire department training center (climbed the burn tower), the highest point in Dayton (not Woodland Cemetery!) and admired the view, etc. Lots of neat stuff ..on every tour I've been on.

It's especially good for newcomers to Dayton or people who never spent much time in the city proper.

This year they are looking at the northwest side of the city...Dayton View Triangle, Hillcrest, Riverdale, Five Oaks, etc....

Here's a link to the site:

It's sponsored by the Neighborhood Leadership Institutes alumni group.

So, if y'all have the time and own a bike....the weather should be good Saturday!

That sounds like a lot of fun!

The highest point in Dayton isn't Woodland Cemetery? I've been misled all these years ...

It was a great event. Not quite the 10 miles advertised, but I logged 13.4 miles total, with travel to the event itself
