Nothing like earning your own keep with a paper route as a kid and buying something that you know you worked for while the rest of the kids needed mommy and daddy to buy it for them. Hence the reason why years later they came to be in credit card debt while you never did as you understood the value of money.

The parents justification for their kids not working was that they needed that time to study meanwhile you were out performing them in all their classes while working and getting paid, resulting in parents that were prouder then you than their parents could ever hope to be of them. Am I right?
