Piggy Backing on the Dayton thread.......Any home schoolers in the area?
We are home schooling in Nebraska currently and considering a move to the Dayton, Area.
Our ds plays basketball for a great home school team. We would like to find a good home school team for him to play varsity basketball. Do ya'll know of anything?

where abouts exactly? I know of the suburbs you're speaking of, but don't know who I should be trying to contact.

Beavercreek High School Website:

I dont know where you come from in Nebraska, but Beavercreek has about 2600 students. It is a great school though. On average about 23 students per class room, and it is a very diverse school. About 88% white, 6% asian, 2% black, and 2% hispanic the other 2% multiracial. The school has an attendance of about 93%, and a graduation rate of about 96%. The school has won many awards these past few years.
And i have heard many good things about the Fairmont High School in Kettering. Both suburbs have great school systems though. Fairmont High School currently has about 2500 students. The city of Kettering had to keep expanding the high school to meet with growth in the student population.

Homeschooling in Dayton
If you haven't found anything yet:
In my experience, the entire Dayton area seems to be fairly open to homeschoolers, and there are quite a few groups to join. The majority are Christian based- CHEO (Christian Home Educators of Ohio) being the biggest. You can google it for groups close to your location.
We also have a number of state run online schools: ecot; treca; Ohio Virtual Academy; being three of the biggest.
If you have special needs students, you should be able to find support groups through google for whatever your student's needs are.
Homeschooling isn't a freak show around here, we all know someone who does it, and the school districts don't come knocking on your door.
