"UPDATE: 'Black Panther' won its second Oscar, and Ohio native Hannah Beachler
became the first African-American woman to win best production design."

I was tempted to post this news on the Cincinnati forum, but I think it deserves to be posted here first and foremost.
Please note that several Cincy media sources have followed this woman's story for days; their reasons are obvious...

"Beachler, 48, grew up in the Dayton suburb of Centerville. She studied fashion design at the University of Cincinnati
but earned a bachelor's degree in motion pictures from Wright State University in 2005."

A lot of people may not realize it by WSU's arts department is pretty well respected (i.e. connections to Tom Hanks). However, her UC Fashion Design experience likely also helped round her into the position she is in today. That program is world class, alongside DAPP and other theater, music and arts department programs. For the arts and design, UC is the leader of the instate public schools for Ohio, IMO.
