I know Cleveland most often enjoys its Hungarian and Polish and Slovenian heritage (and I suppose Italian for the big Little Italy festival each year), but I don't think this study looked too hard at Cleveland's Irish. Downtown Cleveland literally shuts down for most of the day with 100,000's of people thousands Downtown.

On that note, Dayton's looks like an amazing time! Googling images and I'd think I would be drunk and happy there.

Dayton was always our go to for partying in my younger days when drinking beer at the Old Fort drive-in theatre got boring.

That's a good point. Cincinnati, for all of its reputed German-ness, is really specifically Bavarian, rather than German per se. One detects nothing particular of a spirit of efficiency, attention to detail, ready affinity for working together in large numbers, or relaxed attitude towards sexual morality. Instead, Cincinnati is highly Catholic, decentralized, village-oriented, parochial and conservative. So, to a large extent, is Dayton.

There are large Russian-speaking populations in San Francisco and LA, but none comparable to that in NYC. One of my retirement-goals is to move to a city with a large Russian-speaking population... not necessarily in the US, but outside of Russia itself.
Lots of Russians (and Russian Mafia) in Cleveburg FYI

I was delighted to see how this venerated saint's birthday was celebrated in both Dayton and the 3-Cs. Before all the 2019 festivities fade into history, I'd like to present a gallery of photos (linked below) from downtown Cincinnati. What I've enjoyed most about this set of pictures are all the Emerald Isle accoutrements visible throughout. The Irish, themselves, may laugh at our nutty, over-the-top pageantry, but who cares? That's their problem, not ours.
