Tipp City, a few miles south, sounds ideal for you. Great schools, a wide variety of homes, and a nice small-town atmosphere. However, Troy is nice, as well, but the school system is larger and not as good.

A little further south on 75 is a nice community called Vandalia. Friendly, no traffic and great schools....
nice homes, too! Just a thought!

Default Troy- LOTS OF TRAIN NNOOIISSEE!!!

I moved here 2 weeks ago. Spend a couple of nights if you are planning on moving here. We don't live immediately next to the active train tracks but the damn trains blow their horns all night long. I think this is because there are no warning lights on the tracks. The noise sucks.

Last edited by flying1; 11-30-2008 at 05:25 PM.. Reason: Calmed down- trains stopped for an hour.

be forewarned, Tipp City has a "Klavern" there. So that should tell you smething about tipp city. If you don't know what a klavern is...google Ku Klux Klan.

For somebody from Portland, OR, you sure seem to know a lot about Tipp City, OH. Or maybe not. The last time I checked, Tipp City was NOT home to a quote/unquote Klavern. Yes, Tipp City at one time had a small town stigma of being population nothing and being almost solely white, but the town has grown into a suburb and isn't some backward town in the middle of nowhere. It is rather unfair, rude, and downright mean to call a whole town bigoted, especially under false pretenses.

P.S. I apologize to anyone offended if they live in a town in the middle of nowhere for insinuating that they are home to a "Klavern".

TO WrightFlyer....I am not FROM portland...only lived there. SO when I speak of my experience with the tippcity/dayton area...it is of my own personal experience. Valid experience. Every town experiences growth and change over time. This is a good thing. And that is one of the best things about city data is that one can reach out and get information in an instant.

Tipp City may not have a Klavern NOW... but they did at one time. I know several past members PERSONALLY. And as for my statement, I never insinuated that the whole town was racist. I only presented the information that show that the climate of the town is that such an organization can exist easily. And this information is fair. Could you imagine being a minority and finding out this information ONLY AFTER moving your family to this town? If I were moving to a new community, I would want to know all the information...the good, bad, and ugly. Past and Present. To move your family somewhere and NOT know all the information would be a hasty move on anyone's part.

Again, one may say what they want...BUT I KNOW ACTUAL MEMBERS of the Klavern there. Their chapter may or may not be still active.

with a town with less than 1 percent of any kind of minority....that would be important thing to know if it is of any importance to a person moving their.
