Default Renting from Connor Group Apartment Complexes

Hi all! I am planning to move and have seen a lot of complexes in the area now being owned by the Connor Group. From what I can gather from other places on the Internet, it seems like while the complexes are nice, the company does not treat its customers very well. Does anyone have experiences with them they could share here? It looks as though they own the following complexes: Thanks in advance for any information you can pass along!

Stear clear my dear. I have lived in a Connor group complex for the past 6 years. Well, it wasn't connor owned when I first moved in. I am in the process of having to relocate because of the loss of my job and they will not let me out of my lease early. It is extenuating circumstances but they don't care. They are also advertising apartments currently for less than what I am paying which I don't think is right.

Angry My advise>>>run as fast as you can !!

Nothing but a nightmare from beginning to end !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dirty, outdated and bad maintenance. They also have a bogus water/ power company (I think owned by them) for water that charges you pest control, common electric, administration fees, trash, and final reading fees when you move. Wait til you get your bill !

Oh, and you can kiss your deposit good-bye even if the apartment looks better than it did when you moved in ! NOT RECCOMMENDED !!!!!!!!

Thumbs down Run run run run do not rent from connor group

I would STRONGLY recommend that anyone looking at apartments RUN RUN RUN from Connor Group!!!!

I moved from out of state to a connor group property. I was told there would be brand new carpet, new paint and brand new stainless steel appliances in my unit with a covered balcony.
When I arrived on a friday evening the unit was a disaster!! NO NEW CARPET, A three year old could have done a better paint job (WHICH WAS STILL WET) and watered down. If a drop of water touches anywhere the paint runs down the wall. Paint covered the used appliances covered the linoleum floor and was on every door hardware in the unit.
I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT A LITTLE BIT of paint either.

THe Property manager assured me that this wouldnt happen..BUT IT DID. then I listed everything wrong on the move in inspection list. 6 months later nothing has been fixed. my washer and dryer (which comes with unit) went out over a week and half ago. after being at the office 5 times about this yet to date no one has been here to fix it!

BE WARY!! I was not told there would be a seperate water bill. After moving in I find out that I get a seperate bill from Heartland Regional Power... I moved in for 6 days and had a Sixty dollar bill due for those 6 days the next months bill was Seventy Four dollars which consists of
7.99 customer service charge each month
4.00 Security gate charge n(for the electronic gate that doesnt work 80% of the time
and I get billed each month for common electric (office, parking lot lights, and the electric to run the leasing office.
in addition I have to pay for common water.
when I moved in the hose by the pool was running continuous for over 2 weeks ( shut off valve broken) I reported to office 3 times during that period they did nothing
NOW I KNOW WHY......Heartland is owned by connor group..so we are paying them to bill us for their power and water usage.

SINCE WHEN DO APARTMENTS GET BILLED FOR WATER ELECTRIC to run the property .....ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE ARENT EVEN METERS ON EACH UNIT...

i DO NOT EVEN THINK THAT THESE PRACTICES ARE LEGAL........
i HAVE SPOKEN WITH THEM SEVERAL TIMES AND NOTHING CHANGES..

I WILL NOT RECOMMEND OR RENT FROM THEM AFTER THIS LEASE AND I AM TAKING LEGAL ACTIONS AGAINST THEM AS WE SPEAK!!

RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN............

Do yourself a favor and look for an apartment in a privately owned 2-family, or 4-unit building. Much better experience and it's easier to deal with private landlords.

If you know whats good for you ------- dont move into a connor group own apartment. All they are are scam artists that will rip you off any way they can.
Especially with their bogus owned water company - heartland regional, they have all
these added fees, my bill has doubled since they took over. I too will be seeking legal
action against the connor group their unethical business practices as well as contacting the better business bureau.
