I agree with you about the truck noise and congestion. My biggest issue with the Austin Road interchange has been that as long as we continue to design for cars & traffic, we have MORE cars & traffic. The interchange was supposed to reduce congestion and traffic - but it will inevitably spawn more development which will just INCREASE traffic & congestion.

I'd have to concur with the thought that traffic noise will increase a lot more than airplane noise. Certainly there might be some new businesses in the proposed corporate park around the interchange, but I wouldn't expect significant increases in business aviation. The airport still only has a 5,000 foot runway... which does allow for many planes, including small jets, but nothing like what Dayton or WPAFB can accommodate. So at the end of the day, it's still primarily going to be small single-engine planes and some multi-engine turboprops operating out of Wright Brothers.

As a trucker, I see the stretch of I-75 from Exit 44 (OH 725) down to Exit 38 (OH 73) as an increasingly dangerous stretch of highway. Southbound, slow moving trucks on the hill and the OH 725 on-ramp and I-675NB ramp right there together already make for challenging driving. And northbound is almost as bad. Adding the Austin Pike interchange just makes it much worse. For those who will miss the mess in downtown Dayton on I-75 once construction is complete, they'll feel right at home down here...
