Default Good apartments close to Kettering Medical Center

Hi everyone, newbie to the forums here... Its nice having some place where I can research and get information from local people

I will be moving to Kettering mid-June, and working at Kettering Medical Center, and was wondering if anyone here had apartment recommendations for a single, <30y/o male medical professional. I would prefer someplace close to the hospital. Some places which I have found on apartmentguide.com: The Residenz, Villas of Kettering, Georgetown of Kettering, Chateux L'Aiglon, and San Rae Townhomes.

I would appreciate any info, reviews from anyone, as well as other recommendations since I really want to visit the places and check them out, but it looks like I can't take time off to do that. Might have to rent without visiting

Thanks everyone, and have a blessed day.

EDIT: Just read the post about the Connor Group Apartment Complexes. I guess that takes Georgetown out of the mix?

I think the Residenz is near the Fraze pavilion, which is a nice area to walk around and fun if you like summer concerts. I knew someone who lived there for a summer and liked it.

If I were you, I'd try to find a nice duplex or apartment near downtown Oakwood from a private owner (not a management company). It might be a little older, but it's a good choice if you'd want to be able to walk to a grocery store, drugstore, coffee shop, etc.

There are a couple apartment complexes on Far Hills in Kettering (between David and Whipp Roads) -- I can't remember the names, but I wouldn't choose to live in them. The Chateau one might be one of those.

One other idea: maybe one of your new coworkers could take a look at the apartment for you, at least from the outside?

If you are interested you might be able to rent a house for pretty cheap. I know there are a few open on Dorothy Ln right by the golf course. I know the selling price for a few because I looked at them when buying mine. The rent may be fairly cheap considering it's hard to find a renter right now.

I agree with the above post about renting from individuals. I always did before buying & never had a problem.

@ Dayton_Ohio & MissMotleys:
Thanks for the input! Greatly appreciated. Will definitely ask a friend to take a look at the complexes

How do I search for listings from private owners/individuals? Is there a local circular or bulletin board? I've looked at Craigslist, but many of them are management companies

Try dayton.rapmls.com. It's the local MLS site for home buyers, but I think it also has rental listings. A realtor might be able to help you too, although I'm not sure how they are compensated for helping with rentals.
