Dayton Car Dealers
Can anyone tell us a good dealer where we can buy a good and reliable car at? We are looking for an SUV and White Allen Honda keeps popping up when we google DAYTON Cars.
Is that a good place to go?
Thanks for the help.

We had really good luck with Voss. They have at least 5 different dealerships. We went to the one in Centerville, and they worked us out a deal on a truck that we just couldn't turn down. Look for Dave. He is who we worked with, and he's very accommodating.

There are many good dealerships in Dayton (for now) - but I recommend you find one near your home. I live in Beavercreek and have had good luck with Dave Dennis, Hidy Honda and Voss Toyota. My husband bought cars from Ross (on 48) and White Allen (on 741) and they're both great, but it's a hike whenever we have to take the cars in for service.

I'd just figure out what vehicle I wanted then go get each dealer's best offer. Any reputable dealer shouldn't have a problem with that and should be willing to compete for your business.

I'll chime in and say "we've been treated very well by Planet Ford"!

Do an internet search of car dealers. Most of them have pictures and details of their inventory. You can get a CarFax report there also.
As for Planet Ford, I know quite a few people who have had trouble with them. I know of one person who bought a car there. They let them drive it off the lot, with the understanding that financing was a done deal. After driving it for 5 days, they were told to bring it back, that they decided not to finance it. PF had already sent their trade in to another dealer, and they had to go 3 days without transportation while PF tracked it down.

Thanks, Livedhereforever! Sorry to hear about the troubles with PF your friends have had. Guess we got lucky with the right salesman and the right deal. We know people that swear by PF's competitor over on 725 West of I-75. But we were less than impressed from the get-go with their sales people...

Before you buy a used car...
I used to work as new and used car salesman at several different dealerships in the Dayton area. Although I am no longer in car sales (I went back into the landscaping business), I have continued to help people get better deals on vehicles.
One of the keys to ensuring you will get a good deal on a vehicle is taking control of "The Game" away from THEM and going in prepared. I came up with a worksheet called "The Haggle Free Dealer Worksheet" that anyone can take to a dealership to present to the salesperson when it is time to work ou the best price, financing and trade-in values. This worksheet will do one of two things...
1. The salesperson will either refuse to get you all of the information on the workseet. If this is the case, he/she cannot be trusted to have your best interest at heart and you should consider doing business elsewhere.
2. The most likely scenerio. The salesperson will realize you are a serious buyer but will not be taken advantage of and he has one shot to earn your business. He will be immediately compelled to give you his very best deal right up front.
I do not think I am permitted to post links to websites or give website addresses in posts. If you Google "Ethical Car Salesman" you will find the website where the Haggle Free Dealer Worksheet can be printed for free.
