Default Dayton Diggers--metal detecting/bottle digging

Hello, Dayton Diggers are a group of hobbyists that enjoy historical research and recovery. We use metal detectors to locate old coins, tokens etc. that were dropped over the years. We also excavate the old trash pits and privies found on city lots from the 1800's to retrieve old bottles. These pits were typically lined with rock, brick or wood and average 6 feet deep. We dig by hand, place all dirt on tarps and restore the site to its pre-dig condition when we are finished.
If you own an old property and want to share in the recoveries, feel free to contact us. If you want to become a member, check out the website for more info.
Thanks, Steve aka Daytondigger

The website is now, www.daytondiggerS.com We are also on Facebook. We currently have a bottle display at the main Dayton Library. You can contact us at daytonsodabottles@att.net as well. The club is currently working with The Springboro Historical Society on a "donation" privy dig. We have worked with The Highland House in Hillsboro as well as other historical societies and museums. Discover the history buried in your own backyard and help me build and display the "complete' Dayton soda bottlers collection. I also buy crates, advertising, paper etc. from Dayton sodas. Diggin' up the past, one yard at a time.
Thanks,
Steve
