Why not live in Centerville? It's a beautiful community with excellent schools and roomy, traditional houses on generous lots. You'd also save a lot of money and time over living in Dublin and commuting. You might also consider Oakwood or parts of Kettering (the area around the hospital is lovely).

Dayton itself is pretty liberal (and black/multicutural) but the surrounding region is pure "Archie Bunker" country. The area tends so much toward this attitude that I tend to push back when I see it.
Although it's definitely not P.C. to say so, I have to agree, and unfortunately I'm related to a lot of them. The Dayton of my youth in the 70's was extremely segregated. I'd like to believe that it's different now, but I doubt it.

Ohioan58; I strongly disagree. I live in Washington Twp and I've met people from Centerville/Washington Twp that are from both ends of the spectrum (and everywhere in between!) I'm certainly no "Archie Bunker' type and I don't consider my neighbors to be, either.

I don't care whether my neighborhood is multicultural or not. All I want are civilized nieghbors that keep up their property. Culture and ethnicity have nothing to do with that...

If you spend much time hanging around east Dayton, you'll see what Ohioan58 was posting about. It's not pretty, and it's fairly pervasive in areas like Hell's Half Acre, or at least it was when I lived in the metro area. I don't think Ohioan58 was referring to the affluent suburbs, but I could be wrong.

Sorry if I offended!
While your experiences may be inherent to your view the breadth of them is limiting. Espousing a generalized view belies your intent.
Speak on what you know, not what you think.

Ohioan58 first responded to comments on Springboro which a very affluent suburb. Personally I live in NYC and I would have to say that the racism is spread across the whole spectrum of politics. You can talk all your want about the Archie Bunker types but I see at least as much racism although of a hidden sort with the non-Archie Bunker types, people where butter would not melt in their mouths but the snide comments are there. My black friends were surprised to visit other friends of mine in Archie Bunker New Hampshire and find they were treated better there than they were in the liberal areas of NYC and especially the liberal areas of Boston. You can be very conservative and not be a racist and you can be very liberal and be worse than any Bull Connor in your dealings with those of other races.
