Restaurant suggestions
Hey there - we are looking for a new restaurant to go to, hopefully with outdoor seating. We dont want to go to the usual places like The Greene or Oregon District. Anywhere within a 30 minute drive from Dayton would be fine. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks for your suggestions!

El Meson is great, with psuedo outdoor seating on the patio. Excellent food.
I had one of the best meals ever at The Winds Cafe in Yellow Springs a few years ago.
There are a lot of good restaurants in Mount Adams in Cincinnati, most with outdoor seating. Well worth the trip, although it would take an hour to get there from Dayton.
L'Auberge has outdoor seating, but I wouldn't sit there (it's right off 48 in Kettering... car exhaust... yuck).
I think the Dewey's pizza off Brown Street near UD has outdoor seating. I haven't eaten there, but I've heard good things about it.

Thanks for the suggestions. We have been to El Meson - and I completely agree with you. I think we are going to head out to Troy and see what we find. However, I do want to go the Winds Cafe, since you are not the first person to mention that place.

Troy's town square has two awesome restraunts for outdoor seating- The Caroline and La Piaza. Both are excellent, and La Piaza is a little more up-market.
Otherwise, I really don't have any good suggestions at the moment. Tipp City has some cool indie restraunts, too, but they only have indoor seating.

Thanks everyone - we ended up at La Piaza in Troy. Had a great time and yes - got outdoor seating. Beautiful night.

HIGirl, if you could deal with The Greene, we REALLY enjoy Pascha Grill there. They have a Turkish menu that is VERY good (even to this finicky, no-exotic-or-really-spicy-foods guy) Their outside seating is covered and the overhead fans are noisless and make it more comfortable on the hot days. We've enjoyed many a great meal there. Turkish food is very similar to Greek food, as well.

Anyone tried The Dock in Enon?
The Dock - Food & Spirits | Enon, Ohio
It's on the list for the Prestige Club card so we're debating heading up there sometime. Looks like a nice place per reviews online and their menu.

Nickolasposter, didja see where the Buckhorn Tavern made the Dayton Daily News's front page last week? The article was about how restaurants are starting to see more business. (I hope that's an increasing trend!!!)
