Default Is Vandalia too far to drive from Wright Patt area B?

We are looking at a house in Vandalia and mapquest says it will be a 31 minute drive to Fairborn. Does anyone know if it would be a bad commute to Area B at Wright Patt?

Anythign that goes through Malfunction Junction (St. Rt. 4 and I-75) will be rough, and I assume your commute would involve taking this route. However, traffic for the most part around here is pretty decent, so you could probably do it without much concern, and there are good alternative routes, like taking 70 to 4 or taking Needmore all the way over there.

Thanks for the information about alternative routes. We will try that out when we look at houses soon.

A lot of this is what you consider a long commute. Coming from D.C. or L.A. nothing here is going to seem to bad. Me, I'm a sissy about commuting so my threshold is really much lower than most peoples. I would say for your average person who has lived in moderate sized cities Vandalia won't seem too bad.

Vandalia is WORTH the drive. Great town. Not super ritsy but not crappy either. Just alot of upper middle class people that are kind. A little more diversity than most suburbs but not trashy at all./ It is more of a mix of everybody. Great schools and alot of parks. And I'm not so sure it's that far. Perhaps more like 25 minutes depending on how fast you drive. Alot of people I know live in Vandalia and work at Wright-Patt. You won't ever have to worry about a traffic jam either because nearly all of the construction on the highways in this area is complete. But yeah... the traffic in Vandalia is very nice...perhaps one of the more properly laid out communities. Welcome to the city of Vandalia!

Not trying to be picky here, but what is the correlation between diversity and trashy?

Daytonnatian, the good news is that the I-75 SB to OH 4 NB is now open. The bad news is that there's still plenty of construction going on on I-75 north of the exit. I'd opt for I-70 East to OH 4 or even I-75 south to Needmore, too.

Diversity and trashy generally go together, not just in the ghetto but because when cultures mix alot of the time you get a strange mix of people involved in violence and gang warfare because certain cultural groups hate eachother. Example Italians and Irish in New York during the 1920's.

This might be the most ignorant post that I've ever read. You should stick to Vandalia promoting and stop the amateur sociology.
