I've always thought it would be beneficial to enroll for one course a semester at the community college, just to get the ID ...

Never though of that! Then a person would get discount movie tickets and all sorts of other stuff.

Heh, it depend on your state's cost per unit for a class.

CA community colleges have gone from $20 per unit (most classes are 3 units) to $26 to $36 in the last 7 years. And to get the ID discounts, you need to join the Associated Student Organization every semester. More money for that.

You'd need a spreadsheet to figure out if it was all worth it

I KNOW! My daughter wanted to go to college out of state....but out of state tuitions are so high and I'm not sure her Pell Grant will even pay for that. She is waiting now for answers on a few specifics.
