It cost us nothing. It's a service that is paid for by the selected assisted living location.

This company is all over the country and it has local specialists that help find the right place.

You're asked a lot of questions to zero in on what you are looking for.

We had 4 suggested locations and the specialist set us up with appointments to tour each place and we got free meals at each one. The meals are important because our elderly folk like food just as much as we do. My sister, BIL and I visited each place together. Between the three of us we were able to inquire about the things important to us and to "mom." I wanted to be sure there was an on-site beauty salon.

Mother lived there for a year before dementia set in big time. Luckily, this place has a "memory care" unit and we were simply able to move mother from her rooms to a room in that unit. She doesn't even remember living on the other side now.

It is so important that she loves where she is. I even go have lunch with her from time to time. The food is good and it is a relief to be able to eat with her in a safe, relaxed location. She doesn't even realize that she is in a locked unit with 23 other people.
