  • Alabama offered their tax free dates on Aug. 6-8, 2011. There sales applied to clothing under $100, school supplies under $50, books under $30 and computers/computer equipment under $750.
  • Florida's tax free weekend ran from Aug. 13-15, 2011. Florida offered tax free books, clothing, and footwear ($50 or less) and school supplies ($10 or less).
  • Iowa's tax free weekend was in between Aug. 6-7, 2011. They applied cuts to clothing under $100 and shoes under $100.
  • Louisiana's 2011 sales tax holiday was from Aug. 6-7, 2011. It applied to purchases under $2,500, but excludes the purchase of taxable services, automobiles, and meals.
  • Maryland's tax free week began on Aug. 8, 2011, and ended on Aug. 14, 2011.
  • Mississippi's tax free weekend was from Jul 30-31, 2011. It applied to clothing under $100 and shoes under $100.
  • Missouri's tax free weekend ran from Aug. 6-8, 2011. Tax free items were clothing under $100, school supplies under $50, computer software under $350 and computers/computer equipment under $3,500.
  • New York shoppers are now exempt from the 4% state sales tax 365 days per year and this applies to clothing under $110 and shoes under $110.
  • North Carolina's tax free weekend ran from Aug. 6-8, 2011 and it applied to clothing, footwear, and school supplies under $100, sports and recreation equipment under $50, computers under $3,500 and computer equipment under $250. North Carolina also offered a sales tax holiday on qualifying energy star certified appliances from Nov. 5-7, 2011.
  • Oklahoma's tax free weekend ran from Aug. 6-8, 2011 and the tax free purchases were clothing and shoes priced under $100.
  • South Carolina's tax free weekend was held in between Aug. 6-8, 2011. It applied to clothing, accessories, footwear, school supplies, computers and computer equipment.

  • Tennessee's tax free weekend ran from Aug. 6-8, 2011. Tax free items included clothing under $100, school supplies under $100 and computers under $1500.
  • Texas' tax free weekend was from Aug. 20-22, 2011. It applied to clothing and footwear under $100, backpacks under $100 for elementary and secondary students and it also included layaway items.
  • Vermont's tax free shopping weekend was in between Aug. 6-8, 2011. It applied to clothing and footwear under $100 and school supplies under $20.
