Hello everyone. I'm not sure where this should go. I started to put it on the grocery store thread or the food discussion sticky but I wasn't sure. If a new thread isn't correct then the moderator can move it. Thanks in advance, moderator, if you need to and sorry if I've caused you any extra work.Today I spent $35 and some cents and bought 27 items. I am pretty proud of that. I have managed to lose my ticket on the way home from the store but I'll tell how I purchased these items and what some of them were.

I did not use any manufacturers coupons. I've done this before but do not have the time right now. What I want to show is how I saved money by following the ads, which takes very little time. I really concentrated on the ad this week and purchased mainly BOGOs and weekly specials. I had one instore coupon and one in store promotion. By following the promotion I got a free gallon of milk. All of the items on the promotion were things I used (had to have six) and three of them were BOGO. I believe there were four items that didn't fall under any "money saving" category that I purchsed.

Here's a partial sampling of what I bought. Nature's Own loaf bread, Progresso soup and broth, two kinds of cheese (store brand), 3 boxes of General Mills cereal (yeah!), Fresh Express salad mix, Barilla marinara sauce, Pillsbury cookies, Cole's garlic bread.

I didn't buy any meat, fresh vegetables (unless you count the lettuce) or fresh fruit but I covered everything else. I even got a bottle of ginger ale for a penny. My grocery store has a penny item every Wednesday if you buy ten dollars. I guess I should consider that another instore promotion.

Anyway, this is one particular chain. I would love to know what others find at their favorite stores. The cashier, who is one of my favorites, was adding and laughing. She said, "Antiques, you really racked up this week." (I often have a cashier comment on how many groceries I buy for the dollar amount. That sounds like I'm bragging but I'm not). I laughed and she said "keep up the good work."

Hope everyone finds some good bargains this week.

Which grocery stores do you have?
Harris Teeter, Bi-Lo, or Lowes Foods?
