Unbelievable!! I've been reading every page of the COMPUTERS forum, just for my information. And what have I found? Every single problem that I had with my beloved Windows XP computer, that made me think my computer was dying, was due to Firefox bugs -- even the misplaced spaces/letters problem that I posted about here, In fact, I read a thread on Page 55 in which the poster had the exact same problem.
I'm so tempted to get my XP computer out of the closet and start using it again (after re-installing Firefox). But then I'd have to update it with all the bookmarks/emails/etc that I've added to this Windows 8.1. And all the time I spent learning about 8.1 and setting up this computer like I want would have been wasted. Too, I paid $219 for Office 2013 -- it isnt nearly so user-friendly as Office 2003 but, still...
Arghhh.
Keep XP the Magnificent in the closet for another time and knock on wood that you won't need it. It's nice to know it is there. Open the closet door from time to time and give it kisses.
I've had good luck in the computer forum. Those folks have been very helpful and have assisted me in keeping what sanity I have left....which ain't much.
Had a nice river trip with some friends this past weekend then hubby and I stopped off at another camp ground for one last night and it was awesome!! Daughters out of town but we will all get together Sunday for some good family fun.
We have our first case of West Nile Virus in this area. Y'all be careful around mosquitoes.
