I had to go to the Emergency Room yesterday. They wanted to admit me to the hospital but I refused because of there was no one to care for Queenie. So they treated me as best they could and let me go home after 7-8 hours. I have to see a specialist next week. I'm not feeling so well and I look like heck. But I'm alive.

If you have to go into the hospital just call me. I'll hop a plane and be there in no time to take care of Queenie. It would probably take me longer to drive to the airport than the flight to Houston.
p.s. I do have to confess that I might steal a couple of your pots. So, beware and hide your favorites. heeheehee
Take good care, TFW, and please keep us informed. Okay? Okay.

Oh! I wish I could come too! Between the two of us we'd get you up and around in no time. You do so much for others. Please take care of yourself.
Thanks for the good thoughts. It sounds like a simple problem but it was really a mess.
About 40 years ago I had sinus surgery that went really bad. It never healed right and every so often, when I blow my nose it will start bleeding a bit -- no big deal, just an inconvenience. However, a week ago yesterday, I blew my nose at 2:00 PM and the floodgates opened -- I started bleeding profusely, from both sides of my nose and also down my throat. I kept thinking that the bleeding would eventually stop -- but, by 9:00 PM I had gone through 5,000+ paper napkins (I know how many because I buy paper napkins in bulk: 500 napkins per package) with no sign of the bleeding slowing down.
So I drove to the hospital ER. I was bleeding so heavily that the ER people didnt even have me fill out or sign any paperwork or show any insurance info, etc. They wanted to admit me to the hospital and even prepped me for a transfusion. But I refused to be admitted because of Queenie. Finally, at 1:00 AM they were able to cauterize the major blood vessel that was the cause of all the bleeding and I went home.
As a result of bleeding so much for 11 hours, I was very anemic. In fact, it really wasnt safe for me to drive home because I was so dizzy. (Luckily, I live only about 1 mile from the hospital.) I've been having to use my wheelchair around the house this week while the anemia resolves itself. And the cauterization burned all the skin around my nose -- so it's all black. Too, my cheeks are all swollen from the trauma. I look pretty bad. The burned skin is starting to heal now but I still have to be careful not to bend over or pick up heavy stuff -- and, of course, blowing my nose is off limits. I need to see an ENT doctor but have to wait until the burned inside of my nose has healed.

OMG, it's SO cold. Temps are supposed to get down to 29 here tonight, which is c-o-l-d for Houston, especially so early in the season. I know it's a lot colder where some of you are, especially Bob and others on the East Coast. What are yall doing to stay warm?
