I was just out watering the grass , still trying it to grow back where the hogs torn it up a few months ago and noticed it there is a nice breeze blowing. We seems to always have a breeze here.
Thanks, Camper. I hate it when Lulu goes into the hedges to lie down. I understand why she does it (it feels cooler in the shade there and she can listen to all the noises -- dogs barking, etc -- and smell all the interesting odors outside) but she digs her toes into the dirt and then brings big clumps of dirt into the house.
A lot of my grass died because of the drought. I bought some fescue seed from Home Depot and spread it around the yard. I didnt really expect it to grow because I didnt do any prep work, but it germinated within a week and looks better than the sod that was put in a few months ago.
I've already posted a photo of my younger daughter in her Army uniform in the Iraq desert. She was career army and served in Desert Storm (1991-1992) and in Iraq (2006-2008). She had served 20+ years when her career was ended by a serious IED injury in 2008. Here are photos of her with Iraqi villagers, of her performing medical treatments on Iraqi women/children and of 320 Iraqi citizens lined up for medical evaluations on one day.

A super big Texas hug and Thank you to your daughter from our house!!!! So sorry she was injured.
I celebrated today by taking hubby to HEB with me. We have a few rivier trips coming up and I hate deciding what we will have.
I guess this is a "kind of" freebie point - someone got (took) all my tomatoes - so they got freebies
As an update: the contractor FINALLY had someone come this morning (one of the guys I like) - he was able to fix a couple of the remaining issues - he wasn't able to fix the outside door that scrapes at the top and doesn't close, nor the outside ceiling fan (you can't change the fan speed) - he called the carpenter/electrician who will have to look at it. The end FINALLY is in sight (and just wait until I get to Yelp and Angie's List, LOL)
Hey, Flamingo! Glad the contractor is willing to work with you on those pesky remaining issues.
Be careful about posting anything negative on Yelp and AngiesList. Yelp is known for deleting negative reviews and AngiesList may move negative reviews for contractors it likes (meaning contractors who pay for good reviews) down so far you cant find them.
And, for those negative reviews that Yelp doesnt delete, the reviewers have been sued by the contractors/companies. You'd think you cant be sued if the negative review is true but that doesnt keep you from being sued and having to spend money to hire a lawyer to defend you.
