Flamingo, I tried turmeric many years ago and it did help a lot. but it also turned my skin yellow and then yellow rubbed off on my clothing. I guess it came out through my pores. I had to stop using it for that reason but I remember that it did work.
I'm debating using the Factor 5. What I've been using for the past 6-7 years (Move Free Ultra Joint Health) works so well for my arthritis that I hadnt considered trying anything else.
Turned your skin yellow? Yikes! I take one/day - I've seen some recommendations for up to 3/day but I'm not willing to go that route. (I don't look good in yellow! LMAO)

I think I may have been taking high-dosage turmeric pills. It was at least 15 years ago and I dont recall the brand or the dosage. But I used to work with several people who took a turmeric supplement and it didnt appear to turn their skin yellow.
I do think it's worth taking turmeric. I've read many good things about it and I did seem to feel better while I was on it.
I haven't been here in a while (the weather is annoying the heck out of my hand so I mostly type short-ish things - got the Carnation sample in the last week or so (w/a coupon) - that's pretty much it except for all the mags - love those. Never did get that Corona bucket though.... still hoping, LOL.
Hoping you all are doing well and getting some kind of good stuff!
Thanks, Flamingo. I havent gotten anything lately except or the wonderful magazines I get every day. But that's because I havent been requesting many freebies.
I hadnt picked up my mail from Thursday or Friday until this morning. Waiting for me in the mailbox was the freebie Purina Cat Dry Food. It was packaged in foil so it didnt get the least bit moist with all the rain and humidity. Lulu loves dry cat food as treats. Thanks again, Bob!
Glad you got/are getting mail! Breaks my heart seeing the news stories.
Well, the mail I picked up at my curbside mailbox was almost a week old. It had been sitting there throughout the flooding. Today will be the first time the post office has delivered mail since last Thursday or Friday. FedEx and UPS have still not resumed deliveries.
The news stories ARE heartbreaking. What really grabs my heart are the poor people on the east side and other parts of the city whose homes were valued at $30,000 or so and flooded totally. They were living on the edge anyway and now they dont have inhabitable homes, their jobs may be gone or, at best, they havent been able to work for a week and so havent been paid, their cars are flooded -- and they dont have the money to replace or repair anything. What happens to those families?
I feel bad for anyone who's been affected by this tragedy but, for many, it's a temporary (although emotionally draining) setback. For those who were barely getting by before this, it may be the end.
I drove around for a bit yesterday. Because of my stroke I usually cant drive more than 2 miles at a time -- which means only 1 mile out and 1 mile back. What I saw yesterday made me feel so fortunate. Houses and businesses less than 1 mile away from me were totally flooded. I live one block away from Brays Bayou, which caused serious flooding to many homes -- yet, my flooding was limited to the street and part of my yard. Someday I wont be so lucky but, for now, I'm counting my blessings.
