Ordered. I've been concerned actually about how emergency services crew would know that I had a cat inside. This helps to put me at ease. Thanks a bunch!
Our HOA had a meeting with our local fire department. During Q&A, I specifically asked about these. The FF said they don't look for them and if they see them, they pretty much ignore them because so many are out of date.
I was sad to learn of this. HOWEVER, I was heartened to learn that the VAST majority of cats and many dogs will run immediately after the FF open a door. (microchip reminder, folks). And (at least in our community) the FF assume there ARE pets in the house and as long as the lives of humans are not in danger, they automatically make an effort to look for them. They recommended putting something like these tags on the refrigerator NOT THE OUTSIDE WINDOWS.
Personally, I think ASPCA is giving them away to develop marketing lists for potential donors. And I dont blame them. It's a worthy charity with decent financial controls (unlike PETA and HSPCA).
