Beware online coupons! Many are fake!

Our local grocery is now refusing all online coupons due to losses from fakes.

Is your coupon a fake?

This is my favorite for manufacturer's coupons.

Printable grocery coupons by manufacturers.

That is right. Lots of stores are hesitant to take printed coupons because people take advantage of them. I think it is cheaper to subscribe to your local paper ( at least on Sunday) than to spend all you ink printing color coupons you may not even be able to use.

Only the coupons to department stores and specialty stores are considered always safe because they can control the bar codes.

I use lots of internet coupons, and have never had a problem. Check out my post in the Frugal Living thread under Couponing 101. I listed lots of sites as to where I get printable coupons.

Here's an example:

I normally buy my whole grain/multi-grain cereal at Target and Walmart. It's usually about $3.50 per box, and I save $$ by using my coupons which range from $.75 to $1.50. This week CVS has my cereal on sale for $2.50 per box. I had coupons for $1.50 off a box of Kashi, $1.00 off a box of Kelloggs Heart Smart, coupons for $.75 off a box of Fiber One cereal and $.75 of one box of Fiber One bars.

I bought four boxes of Fiber One cereal, two boxes of Fiber One bars, one box of Kellogs Heart Smart and five boxes of Kashi cereal. My bill was $30.00 before the cashier deducted my coupons, and my final bill was $17.00, and I saved $39.18. But I still have five more coupons to use before Sunday because they didn't have enough cereal on the shelf, so I'll go to another CVS.

I print lots of coupons and have never had any problems.
I use coupons.com mostly and sign up on a brands website to get coupons and specials directly from the company.
