I have a friend (alert the press-ahahaha) who lives in SLO. She and her hubby shop at TJs and I love reading the list of things she buy to munch on. It just sounds like such a neat place. I've never been in one but I'd go wild there with the desserts and shrimp stuff. heeheehee
Thanks for the offer, Wurzig.

Oh, the store in Arroyo Grande near Wally or a different one? Yes, I have been there many times....my inlaws lived there for many years......
They have interesting/unusual stuff and not overly expensive....
I recently saw a small bag of dried string beans..salted......we were on our way to the movies and thought it would be a good snack.....but they were from Vietnam and were over $3.00......I put them back.....not that I am afraid of stuff from Vietnam, but I think it is the first food item that I had ever seen from there and I really didn't want to pay that price for them either. My husband is a salt eater and would have devoured the whole bag in 2 minutes.... I have a dehydrator.....I wonder if I could dry them and maybe put a bit of something on them (oil??) for a tiny bit of salt to adhere to them..... At another local store, they have big barrels of beans, pasta, nuts, etc..and in one barrel they have dried veggies......I scooped some out and they were delicious! (Not those fake dehydrated potato chip kinds of veggies that you buy instead of chips). Real squash, beans, carrots, you name it....I need to go back and get some more!
The Trader stores are really busy.....I get overwhelmed in them at times so I don't go often....they are so crowded.....and if you stop to check something out you practically get run over.. They became really famous because they sell 2 Buck Chuck wine....Charles Shaw.....it's a decent wine, (not super good, in fact, I don't care for it at all, but it's okay and a LOT of people buy it), and it's just $2.00..... TJ's finds deals and passes them along: overstocks at wineries, wineries that are going out of business, foreign wines, etc., that are pretty good.....

Chewy Lemon Heads candy... Tasty, but spending $1.22 on postage plus the cost of the padded envelope--wouldn't it have been more cost effective to send a coupon for a free (larger sized) sample??? Plus I'd have gotten more candy
