It's funny, but my husband has been sharpening mine for the last year. I finally found a pair I love and when they became dull I refused to throw them out... we figured there was nothing to lose by trying so he got a metal file and sharpened them- viola, it worked and they are still going strong. He sharpens them for me every few months...

Guess they just want us to keep buying tweezers, 'eh?

Okay, I have to tell this one.

I read a book titled "Fractured English" by a favorite author and the book is a series of examples submitted by school teachers of answers they get on tests from students.

One test question was about Sir Frances Drake. "Who was Sir Frances Drake?"

One student wrote:

"Sir Frances Drake is famous because he circumsized the globe in a 20 foot clipper."

Tweezers reminded me of nail clippers.
