Hi, I am looking for specific information about subdivisions in Newark.
I have heard negative things about Brookside, but can anyone give me more than generic info?
I am also looking at the Four Seasons subdivision and the Christiana Village.
While I was originally focusing on single family homes, I am now looking at townhouses as well.
Goods and Bads about the different neighborhoods around Newark are greatly appreciated. I am looking to be within 7 miles of UDel, so Bear is out of my area.

Not sure of your price range, but I'm guessing $150 -$170 if you are looking in Brookside?

For the price, Brookside isn't bad. Because of its price range & the fact that it is a really large neighborhood, you're going to get issues like: a lot of renters, homeowners who don't maintain their properties, and the usual riff-raff. But, Brookside rarely makes the local newspaper for serious crimes. White Chapel (formerly Kimberton) is just up the road and does have a lot of crime issues.

In this market, you are likely to find a few houses for sale in other good neighborhoods in your price range. For instance, at the moment there are a few listings: Birchwood Park, Chestnut Hill Estates, and Rutherford. Homes in good condition & priced right, in the better neighborhoods, are of course the ones that sell faster. A good real estate agent is key.... one that doesn't sugarcoat just to get the sale.

I'm not familiar with Four Seasons or Christiana... hopefully someone else will chime in...
