On a general note... what is with the lack of spices up here?? Not a single restaurant that we have visited so far has seasoned their food in any noticeable way, not even salt and pepper. Hint... seasonings = flavor, flavor = taste, taste = pleasurable meal.
I think this is a function of being in the north. Compared to New England, Delaware is a spice-fest.

But that said, I think the best eats in Delaware are the ethnic eats. I know less about the Wilmington area, but I live near Newark and there's some fantastic stuff here. My favorites are Santa Fe Mexican (Chapel & Main st.), Ali Baba's (Main st, across from Santa Fe), Korean BBQ (Kirkwood highway, just outside of Newark), and Little Saigon (off of 273). ALso worth mentioning, Las Palmeras, somewhere off of route 40, south of Newark (is it called Fox Run Plaza? I forget the name)...outstanding Puerto-rican and Peruvian food.

In terms of just a regular everyday restaurant...it's harder to find. One place I really liked though, if you're ever in Magnolia, the Magnolia restaurant...I thought it was pretty good, and they also had some spices to their food. It's just about the only thing in the town of Magnolia (just south of Dover).

Thumbs up Longhorn Steakhouse

In all my travels over the years, Longhorn Steakhouse off of Rt. 40 in Bear, had one of the best tasting (and well seasoned !) steaks that I've had the pleasure of eating.

The price was really surprising in a good way! They are offering a two can dine for $29.99 special that was a lot more than similar offers usually contain.

Steak was tender and cooked perfectly for both hubby's well done preference and my medium rare taste.

Service was excellent, even when they were at capacity due to a fundraiser going on at the time.

Over all, I'd give this restaurant a 9 on a 1-10 scale. Will definitely be going back again.

Do you think Longhorn is better than Texas Roadhouse?

YES Longhorn was much better than Texas Roadhouse by a long shot... at least in my opinion. I have not been to the TR in Delaware yet but with it being a chain, I'm assuming it will taste the same as the ones in Tennessee did.
