Football Homecomings and Fall go together in Delaware. This weekend was a kick-off weekend for more fun to come, and it seems all ages are excited about the schedules, whether they have kids playing, or not.

Just a couple Kent County Homecomings:
Smyrna vs. Seahawks = Smyrna won their Homecoming Game 28-0
Caesar Rodney vs. Cape Henlopen = C.R. won their Homecoming Game 49-21. Huge homecoming parades, spirit week, and celebrations were a big part of the fun for these two games last week, and others in Delaware. It's great seeing young people enthused about their school

The spotlight shines on Homecoming week tomorrow 10/11/10 for:
A.I. duPont vs. Friends High School (game next weekend) and
Delaware State University has a rip-roaring week planned when they meet NC State University, also next weekend. Hotels/motels are booked solid in Dover as alumni landed in Dover for spirit week and a host of other activities.

Tomorrow, I'll be taking our Caesar Rodney Homecoming decorations down after a really fun celebration last week. But more fun is ahead every weekend until the end of November. Can't beat Delaware local football, high school or college/university for fun!

Any other reports on football in Delaware?

Thanks, jdoll!
Because of all our excitement with Caesar Rodney's Homecoming, we missed yesterday's Blue Hens game. Did Pat Devlin QB? In a round about way, we know him. KC Keeler is doing a terrific job, I think. Tubby was a tough act to follow. Didn't KC play for Tubby?

Devlin is playing a looked rally good Saturday This Saturday is Parents Weekend against Rhode Island and Nov 6 is Homecoming against Towson. I heard they are now selling some seats for $9 for both of these games. A real value for a team that may be competing for a National Championship Go HENS!!

K. C. Keeler played for tubby as a LB if my memory serves me correctly ... and he was outstanding at that position - I bet Tubby had a lot to do about choosing him and might have mentored him behind the scene.

The biggest difference is K.C. has aggressively recruited good bench warrmers from larger universities(e.g. Flacco) and let them flourish at UD and increased their talent exposure.

Lots of fun ahead! High School football playoffs start this weekend. The schedule was in the Delaware State News, now it's on my refrigerator.

There was a little trouble at Dover High School's Homecoming game Friday night, when the Senators played the Riders (C.R.). At 9:17 p.m. the bench cleared, and 7-8 Senators were ejected from the game, which was the demise of the Senators. Not much press on the incident, which is a good thing. But the game halted for about half an hour. We went to our car and listened to the rest of the game on the radio, on the way home.

Rivalries, damn I miss High School. As long as no one gets seriously hurt, fights and football mix like PB&J.
