Default Help need info on Hockessin

My husband and I are looking to move to Hockessin from Jersey. We want to open up a new business. Preferrably retail. What would be a good store.? Whats missing?. Any ideas. My husband currently owns a ceramic tile business, he needs to get off his knees, he can hardly walk. We were consideraing a childrens clothing store. Does anyone know whether this seems to be a good idea?.

Hockessin is a nice place to live but it is quite small of an area to have a thriving business. There's a Five Guys Burgers in Hockessin and it doesn't do half the business that a new one does that has just opened up in North Wilmington. You may need to research other areas in DE such as Bear and Middletown, these areas are growing pretty quickly.

Good Luck.

If you live in the Hockessin area, you may want to consider a retail store on Kirkwood Highway, that is the closest bustling shopping route. Delaware has no sales tax, so we do get shoppers from the entire quad-state area.

Congrats on your decision to move to Delaware! I do a fair amount of business in Hockessin and I would suggest any type of specialty shop that specializes in quirky, crafty items (i.e. unique jewelry, crafts, specialty foods).

I've been pricing retail & office locations. I have an event planning business & think Kirkwood HWY is a great location.

Retail has been $14-$16 per sq.ft.

Goog luck!
