We are looking to purchase in ST Anne mainly because everyone told us Appo was such a good school district, come to find out there are different feeder patterns in Appo and apparently some are viewed more favorably than others, So does anyone habe any personal experience with the elementary, middle and High School in the ST Anne's feeder pattern, good or bad?

Also, have read on this board about choice? Does that involve driving your kids to the school of choice? Do alot of people choose to do this? If so, would you recommend choiceing out of ST Anne's schools, and if so, to which ones?

not sure about the feeder pattern for St. anne's (but honestly I don't know of a real bad school in and around middletown)- but, as you have mentioned, to choice in your kids is always a possibility and includes your responsibility of transportation to and from school.

right at the entrance of st. annes there is MOT charter school. you can join the lottery and might get lucky. they serve k-9 and it is such great school ! but took me four years to get my kids in.

edit: try this link to find out about the feeder pattern DEDOE Interactive Maps [Delaware Department of Education]

The Appo School District website has a link to feeder patterns under the transportation section. You can plug in any potential address to see where your children would attend school. Due to additional new schools being built in the district, there may be some upcoming changes. The district is holding meetings for parents to discuss the possible changes in feeder patterns. Good luck!

You should know, though, that the feeder patterns will be changing again for the 2012-2013 school year when the new early elementary and elementary schools open on Rt 299 in Townsend. It may or may not affect St. Anne's -- the meetings to discuss the proposed changes are happening in the next week or two.

Thanks! Will the results of those meetings be posted anywhere so as to have a heads up as to what the new patterns will be for the 2012-13 school year?

I hope so! Here's the latest:

Appoquinimink School District: News (http://www.apposchooldistrict.com/news/index.cfm?step=1&ArticleID=1028 - broken link)

I'm assuming that it'll be published either on Appo's site or the Middletown Transcript's site. I'll post here if I see anything.

Looks like right now the Estates at St. Anne's feeder pattern is:

Elementary: Bunker Hill (this is the newest elementary school in the district until the next one opens, I think it's only a few years old. I don't know anything else about it).

Middle: Meredith Middle

High: Middletown High

I don't know much about the middle and high schools. SchoolDigger.com - School Rankings, Reviews and More - Public and Private Elementary, Middle, High Schools has some info, I believe, in regards to testing, etc.

My only experience with St. Anne's private school (which is in Middletown, not part of the development but about a 15 minute drive away) is that my son attended a couple of summer camps there last summer. The camp was well-organized and the grounds/building seemed nice. It serves grades 1-8, I believe.
